We had a question about the term “real-time protection” when it’s used with security programs like Malwarebytes. The Malwarebytes program is free but is you want real-time protection, you need to pay for the premium version.
Basically, real-time protection constantly monitors your PC for threats and tries to prevent any type of infection before it happens, often blocking you from going to suspicious sites or preventing you from opening suspicious files. If you don’t have real-time protection, your security program scans your programs for problems (usually on a schedule that you set up) and tries to remove the malware. But it’s possible that damage has already been done by then.

Great advice! You need to intercept any incoming virus before it can damage your PC. I use “Webroot Secure Anywhere” recommended by the Geek Squad.
I usually get a message that says “Get me out of here” when it detects a problem. Click on and it’s gone!Works great.
