AT & T Launches DirectTV Now

AT & T is serious about luring cord-cutters to their service. The company is launching a new service called DirecTV Now that offers many of the channels you get DirectTV or a cable company available via an app. That means you don’t have to pay for any equipment.

Smartphone Data Usage

Pricing starts at $35 for 60 channels and runs up to $70 for a 120 channel package.  You can stream on up to devices at once. Supported devices include iPhones, iPads and Android tablets and phones as well as Fire TV, Chromecast, and Apple TV.  Plus, if you have AT & T wireless, the streaming won’t count towards your data for the month.

iPhone Users Report Being Spammed

Apple users are complaining about a sudden influx of spam along with the Christmas shopping season. Users have been seeing a flood of sales notifications in their Apple Calendar. It turns out that spammers can email invites to calendars and they’ll turn up as notifications.  The same thing is also reportedly happening in the Photos app as well.  No word yet on if Apple has a fix.
