Verizon is rethinking its multi-billion dollar offer for Yahoo, and it’s all because of a massive data breach. Once Verizon found out about the massive Yahoo data breach that basically exposed every Yahoo user’s information, the company wanted to renegotiate their bid to buy the company.
You may recall that Yahoo wanted to sell off the email and Internet portal portion of their business to concentrate on their interest in the Chinese import company Alibaba.
Marni Walden, a senior executive at Verizon, implied that the deal was still up in the air and might not go through by saying, “I can’t sit here today and say with confidence one way or another because we still don’t know.”
Apparently, Verizon is still waiting for Yahoo to complete their investigation into the biggest data breach in
history.
