A reader has a question about Microsoft’s Cloud Storage service, OneDrive. “I have large amt of photos (over 100,000) and many documents, etc. Is OneDrive a mirror image or storage site. I want storage not just to mirror my computer. I want to delete things unnecessary from my computer, but keep the info (usually in ext Hds). Also what does One Drive cost & it’s capacity?”
OneDrive is designed for offsite storage of your files. You can choose to mirror your files like documents, pictures, and music to your OneDrive account or just upload them. (I mean, mirror the files, not a whole system mirror.)
With a Microsoft account (Outlook.com address) you get 5GB of storage for free. If you subscribe to Office 365, 1TB of storage is included in that subscription.
Paid plans start at $2 a month for 50 GB.
