I’ve worked with various types of technology since the last century and I’ve learned one important thing: cables are evil, weak, little troublemakers. What I’m really trying to say is that they are the first thing to go.
Monitor not working? Check to see if the cable has come loose or gone bad. No sound on the computer? Check to see if they are tightly plugged in on both ends or test a new cable if possible. Phone or tablet won’t charge? That charging cable is always my prime suspect. See if you can’t borrow a cable from another device.
Not able to transfer from your camera to the PC — yep– check that cable. Fortunately, these problematic cables are also usually fairly inexpensive to replace. It’s always a good idea to keep extra cables on hand, just in case.
