Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade has been part of my holiday as long as I can remember. We’ve always eaten our Thanksgiving meal at noon in my family and we always watched the parade while we did the final food preparations. When the parade was over, it was time to eat.

I watched my first parades on a tiny black and white TV and I enjoyed it just as much as I enjoy the spectacular high-definition images on my 50″ TV now.  Macy’s has a fun site packed full of information about one of my favorite events.

You can check out this year’s route, parade lineup, and celebrity guests. Plus you can purchase items from the parade shop.

Click the three-line menu icon at the top left for interesting information about how the giant balloons are inflated and the history of the parade.

I learned some fascinating facts about the parade. There’s information on where to watch and handy information for people who are in New York on where to view the parade in person.

While it’s a bit late to make travel plans now, the tips could be useful for planning a future trip.
