If you’re using an Amazon device like Fire TV, you may have already seen this warning if you use the YouTube app.
Google is pulling support for the YouTube app because of a feud with Amazon. Amazon’s Prime Streaming and Google’s paid YouTube service are in competition and Amazon does not carry Google Home products or the Chromecast streaming stick.
But all hope for watching YouTube videos is not lost. If you’re using a Fire tablet, you can just go to the pre-installed Silk Browser and head to YouTube.com. If you’re using Fire TV, you may be able to download the Silk Browser app from your app store and go to YouTube.com.
Silk Browser is currently available on 1st and 2nd generation Fire TV devices, the 2nd generation Fire TV Stick, and is coming soon to the new Fire TV. It may be rolled out to other devices later on.
