Microsoft is making the Windows Defender anti-phishing plugin available for Google Chrome browser. The plugin doesn’t disable any of the Chrome protection, but adds real-time Windows Defender protection against malware and phishing websites. Here’s how to get it.
Open Google Chrome browser. (This won’t work for any other browser.) Then click here to go to the Chrome store.
Type in Windows Defender Browser Protection and click on the result.
You can read up on the product and see if you think it will work for you.
If you decide to install, just click the Add to Chrome button.
You’ll need to give permission for it to install.
An icon will appear at the top right of your Chrome browser to indicate that the extension have been installed. Click on that to pull up a menu that allows you to turn it off and on with a toggle switch.
