The Great American Read

I’m prepping my summer reading list, are you? I cannot wait to have time to read while I’m on vacation! In building my list of summer reads, I ran across the Great American Read. It is a list of 100 novels curated in a national survey. The selection explores how and why authors create their fictional worlds, why we as readers are affected by the stories being told, and the diverse portrait that these novels paint of America.

When you arrive at the site, you can access the books right away from the main page. You have the option to filter the books by genre, A to Z, Z to A, use the alphabetical navigation list, or just click on the cover that strikes your fancy!

When you click on a book, you’ll find a description of the story and a description of the author. To help you decide if you want to read the book.

From the main page, you can also click the link to view a print list of the books. You could print that out and use that as a checklist.

This is a neat way to discover books that you might not have found on your own.
