I recently heard from a reader who wasn’t sure where to find the search box in Windows 10.
Here’s what the typical display is in Windows 10. The search box is to the left, right next to the Start Menu button.
She sent me an image of her desktop.
Here’s how to make it visible. Right- click a blank spot on the taskbar and choose Cortana from the menu.
Then select Show search box.
The search box should now be visible.
The one thing you did not point out in this tip. Was that in the Taskbar settings you must turn off (Use small taskbar buttons). If Use small Taskbar Buttons is set to yes, you will never get the search box to display.
