The Hathi Trust is a large-scale collaborative repository of digital content from research libraries including content digitized via the Google Books project and Internet Archive digitization initiatives, as well as content digitized locally by libraries.
Today’s site, mines those digitized volumes to bring you a new way to explore browsing books by using just the digitized text. The visualization allows you mouse over different data points to see what book is attached to it. Navigation is simple, click on any data point, and begin exploring. Or you can take the guided tour provided by clicking the next arrow in the grey box on the visualization.
Once you’ve started exploring you can click on any title to see it in the Hathi Trust catalog, and even read it if it is in the public domain.
I found this to be a really fun way to explore books! Go try it for yourself!
