There’s an Android feature that’s very helpful for organizing photos that you might want to turn on. Or you might want to make sure it’s turned off, if you’re really concerned about privacy. It’s possible to embed a location tag using the GPS on your phone.
This is handy for remembering where you took your photos and also for allowing Google Photos to create albums based on location.
The first step is to make sure that location is turned on under Settings. That way, your phone will record the location of each photo.
Now, we’ll make sure we embed that information in each photo. Open Gallery and tap the 3-dot menu icon at the top.

Choose settings from the drop-down menu. Scroll down to Show location and turn it on.

Then open your camera and click the Settings Gear.

Scroll down to location tags and tap the button to move it to the on position.

You’ll need to give permission.

When it’s turned on it will look like this.

When I check the details on my photos, I’ll be able to see where each one was taken.
