A favorite trick of scammers is to impersonate a security email from one of your accounts. They get you to click on a link or provide information and they either infect your device with malware or steal your account.
There’s a quick and easy way to tell if Facebook has attempted to contact you. Let me show you how.
Open your Facebook page, click the arrow and the top right, and choose Settings from the drop-down menu.
Then choose Security and Login.
Scroll down to Advanced and choose See recent emails from Facebook.
Click on View.
Choose the Security tab and you’ll see your recent security-related emails with the address it was sent to and the subject line.
Click the Other emails tab to see any other correspondence from Facebook.
