Smithsonian offers 2.8 million free images for you to use

Looking for some free images to use in a project? The Smithsonian Institution has released 2.8 million images into the Public Domain. That means you can download and use these images for whatever you choose.

Put them on your website, use them in your newsletter, make a book cover, video, greeting card, or more. Create a label for your product. Make lots and lots of art! The options are as endless as the number of images.

According to the Smithsonian, “Digital depot encourages the public to not just view its contents, but use, reuse and transform them into just about anything they choose—be it a postcard, a beer koozie or a pair of bootie shorts.”
