There may be times when you’d like to keep your USB ports active even when your PC is asleep such as when you’re charging something. But many PCs will cut off power to the ports when your computer goes to sleep. Here’s how to change that.
Type Device manager into your Windows search box and click on the results.
When it opens, scroll down to Universal Serial Bus controllers.
Click the arrow next to Universal Serial Bus to expand. Find Root Hub on the list and right-click.
Select Properties from the menu.
When the Properties window opens, click on the Power Management tab.
Untick the box next to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Make sure to click OK to save changes.
