Ready to change up the look of your email inbox? Last week, I showed you how to use add the Theme and Font Changer add-on to your Thunderbird email client. Then I walked you the process of enlarging all of your text. (Click here to read that article)
Today, I’ll show you how to use it to change colors and fonts. This will only work if you’ve installed the Theme and Font Changer. So, if you haven’t done that yet, refer back to the first article.
Start by opening your inbox.
Click on the icon for Theme and Font Changer at the top right.
We covered how to use the Zoom setting to increase the size of all the text, including the menu text, in Thunderbird. Click on the arrow next to Font.
You can choose from any font installed on your computer. Be careful. Some fonts can look like they’d be fun but turn out not to be very readable.
You can also adjust the size of the font.
Here I’ve changed both the font and the enlarged the size.
Under Style and Weight you can choose to make the type Italic or Bold.
Your next options are for picking colors.
Click in the box next to Color Picker to change your colors.
Your first color option will change the color of text.
Background Color will control menu bars and tabs.
Thread Pane will change the background of your inbox.
Click on Default to return to original settings.
Cyn, Is this only for Thunderbird (never heard of it) or will it work for other email servers (Yahoo.com). Stay well, Trish
I have been using TBird for over 10 years, It’s the most complete email app around & easy to use. Problem is when you have a problem, it is very hard to get help. Right now I am searching for a solution to TBird crashing. Works finr on my desktop, but crashes about every 5 emails on my laptop.
