Mac Hot Corners allow you set up your computer so that specific tasks happen when you hover your mouse in a corner of the desktop.
Here’s what you can control with Hot Corners:
- Application Windows
- Desktop
- Dashboard
- Disable Screen Saver
- Launchpad
- Lock Screen
- Mission Control
- Notification Center
- Put Display to Sleep
- Start Screen Saver
Start by clicking the Apple icon at the top left of your computer and choosing System Preferences from the drop-down menu.

Under System Preferences, click on Mission Control.

Mission Control will open.

At the bottom left, click on Hot Corners.

The Active Screen Corners menu will open. Each box represents a corresponding corner of your Mac desktop.

Click in any of the boxes and you’ll see a short list of options for Hot Corners.

Click on the white arrow and you’ll see the full list.

Choose your tasks for each corner. Then click OK. You don’t have to assign a task to each corner.

Now when you hover your mouse in the selected corner, the corresponding action will happen. You need to take the cursor all the way into the corner to activate.
