Recalls Look-up by VIN

We just got a recall notice on our Fiesta for just a minor defect, and it got me thinking that there must be somewhere that you can just check for recall information on your own. It turns out there is!

You can look up recalls by using your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). Just find the VIN on your vehicle and then type it into the search field on the site. After that you’ll need to fill out the CAPTCHA and click the orange Submit button.

Just below the area where you put in the information into the search field is a text box that details what the search does and does not cover.

On the left side of the page, you’ll find  a handy side menu.  You can check those categories out for yourself, but I wanted to draw your attention to the Recalls FAQ. It’s a downloadable .PDF that goes over what a recall is, where you can find your VIN on your vehicle, and other helpful tips.

Go check whether your car has any recalls today!
