If you use Microsoft Office 2010 or Office 2016 for Macs, you have a problem. Microsoft has ended support for both of these products. That means they will no longer provide security support, bug fixes, or any kind of tech support for the programs.
These programs won’t disappear from your computer. However, it really isn’t safe to use them on any computer that’s connected to the Internet.
Microsoft suggests that you purchase and Microsoft 365 subscription or Office 2019.
You could also switch to the free Office Online apps or download a free program like LibreOffice or OpenOffice.
Microsoft Office programs are among the most popular targets for the folks who create malware, so it’s a pretty risky proposition to use the programs without support.
What about Microsoft Office 2010 Pro? Is this the same thing or am I out in left field? Is support still there for this?
