A reader needs help with desktop icons:
“How do I lock my icons so they quit moving around on me? I have to realign them every time I restart my computer.”
Hopefully, it’s an easy fix. Right-click on a blank spot on your desktop and choose View from the menu that pops up.”
Make sure there is no checkmark next to Auto arrange icons or Align icons to grid.
When you restart, your icons should be right where you left them.
