If you have third-party security software like Norton, you may get nag screens like this. It looks like a security alert but it’s really an attempt to sell me a VPN service from Norton. Let’s look at how to get rid of these ads. For demonstration purposes, I’ll use Norton but the steps are fairly similar for other software as well.
I’ll start by searching for Norton in the Windows search box and clicking on the results.
Then I’ll click on Settings once Norton opens.
Next, choose Administrative Settings.
When Administrative Settings opens, scroll down to Special Offer Notification.
Slide the switch next to Special Offer Notification to the Off position.
Just like that, the nag screen is gone.
