I just watched an interesting crime documentary on Netflix called This Is a Robbery. It’s about a 1990 robbery at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum where robbers made off with several masterpieces. So, I was excited to come across this site, called Hacking the Heist.
It used augmented reality to digitally restore these masterpieces to their proper place at the museum. How cool is that? I realize they use this site several times during the course of the film.

When you arrive at the site, you’ll scroll down the page to learn more about the stolen artwork, the project of restoring it, and more.
I highly recommend taking the time to watch the videos. They’re all under 30 seconds and give you an idea of how museum visitors experience the augmented reality of restored paintings.
This is a really cool project! Go check it out for yourself!
