Reports say Microsoft has dropped its plans to release Windows 10X, an operating system designed specifically for dual-screened mobile devices. It was supposed to be the operating system for the Surface Neo, a device the company announced but never delivered. The Neo was supposed to be a hinged tablet that opened to reveal a larger screen.

Microsoft is expected to keep some elements of Windows 10X in the big update to Windows 10 due out later this year. That update is called Sun Valley. Leaked screenshots of Sun Valley show an interface closer to that of a phone or tablet than the traditional PC.
There’s no official word from Microsoft on when that update will happen. I’ll keep you posted.
