Streaming giant Netflix is ready to get into the gaming business. The service already dominates the worldwide streaming market.

The network hired Mike Verdu to be the new vice president of game development. Verdu used to work for Electronic Arts, where he spearheaded mobile games like The Sims Freeplay and Plants vs. Zombies 2. From 2009 to 2012 he served as the Chief Creative Officer of Zynga games.

Sources say the company plans to offer games alongside its movies and series programming sometime next year. The good news is that there’s no plan to charge any extra for this service.

Video games are the chief source of entertainment for many younger people. While Microsoft and Sony offer games, none of Netflix’s direct competitors like Hulu, HBO Max, or Amazon have a gaming service… yet.
