The security experts at ThreatFabric issued a warning about banking malware hidden in an app that was downloaded more than 50,000 times from the Google Play store.
The app is called ‘Fast Cleaner.’ It promises to speed up your phone, remove unwanted files, and help conserve battery power.

The app requests permissions that allow it to take control of your device.

The app contains the Xenomorph banking trojan malware. The malware overlays your legitimate banking apps and tricks you into entering your private information. Hackers can then use that information to steal your money and access other private information.
Google removed that version of Fast Cleaner from the Play Store. If you downloaded it, you’ll want to remove the app and change your account passwords.
