Last week, I gave you a quick overview of the difference between an SMS text message and a message on your Android smartphone. Today, I’ll take a look at iPhones. They work just a bit differently than Android. You can click here to read the first part of our article.

On an iPhone, both SMS text messages and messages come into the same app.
iMessages can only be sent to other iPhone users. iMessages are texts, photos, or videos that you send to iOS devices and Macs over Wi-Fi or cellular data networks. These messages are always encrypted and appear in blue text bubbles.
SMS text messages are texts and photos that you send to other cell phones or iOS devices. They appear in green text bubbles on your device.
There are two possibilities as to why you aren’t receiving iMessages and your husband is. iMessage must come from someone using an iPhone. So, if no one is sending you messages with iMessage, you won’t get them. The more likely possibility is that you have iMessage turned off on your phone.
To turn it on, open settings.
Select Messages.
Use the slider switch next to iMessages to turn it off or on.
