A reader wanted some suggestions for a program that would give an onscreen notification caps lock was turned on. Windows 11 offers a built-in audio indicator.
As we all know, sometimes you can accidentally turn on caps lock, number lock, or scroll lock with a few misplaced keyboard strokes. And sometimes it takes me some time to figure out what I’ve done. This handy tone can prevent a lot of mistakes.
Here’s how to use it. Open your Start Menu, type Settings, and click on the results.
Choose Accessibility
Select Keyboard.
Then choose Toggle Keys on to hear a tone when you press Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock.
Thank you so much for this tip. I never knew this was available in Windows 10. It will save me a lot of time in tracking down errors in typing.
