Road Scholar

Road Scholar started back in the 1970s and used to be called Elder Hostel It was a learning program conceived to combine not-for-credit classes with inexpensive lodging for older adults.

Today it offers 5,500 learning adventures, serving more than 100,000 participants annually.  The programs are aimed at travelers aged 50 and up.

They offer both travel and virtual learning experiences. Checking the “About” tab gives you the above information and whole lot more.

Click on the “Find a Trip” tap to explore everything from free online classes about ancient Egypt to photography trips to Yellowstone to trips to Scotoland.

Go to “My Account” to create a convenient free Elderhostel account. An account allows you to enroll in programs online, set and record personal preferences, request free catalogs and emailings, and view and manage your Elderhostel payment records.

This is a great site to plan your next adventure.
