My Word Doesn’t Look the Same

A reader had a comment on my article about changing the default font in MS Word.

“My MS Word doesn’t have the same titles that you show. At the top, I have File / Edit / View / Insert / Format / Tools / Table / Windows / Help”

You could be using a version of Word older than 2013, or perhaps you have customized your Ribbon to look differently. Try pressing the Ctrl Key + D to open the Font menu.

But I wonder if you might not be using Word at all. The layout you describe sounds like it could be Open Office, great free Office Suite that can open and edit Word documents.
