Answer: There could be a really simple solution. So give this a try. Right-click on an empty area of the desktop that will pop up a menu. Then select View and choose Show Icons. This is also where you can select the size and arrangement of your icons.
If this simple fix doesn’t work, we can explore some other solutions.
