Juke Wants To Turn Your Smartphone Into A Karaoke Machine

A team of developers have launched a Kickstarter campaign in hopes of crowd funding a portable wireless  singing device that you can take anywhere. The device would simple plug into your phone or tablet and you’d be ready to sing off tune with your friends.

The first step would be plugging the Juke microphone into your phone. Then you would connect your home stereo or speakers to the Bluetooth receiver.

This device and app would work like any basic karaoke machine, but eliminate the need for a PC-based machine that require a player, microphone inputs and an audio output.  The app would allow you stream and store your favorite songs. Plus, this device would be pocket-sized and let you go anywhere.  Below, a picture shows some folks ready to bust out some tunes at a picnic.

The developers say the reciever has a rechargeable battery that would be good for over 8 hours of playtime and would stay connected up to 33 feet away.

The app would sync with your favorite tunes on YouTube. You would also be able to share playlists and synchronize music with your friends.

The developers promise that the mic will also allow you to add effects plus offer pitch correction.

And if you’re to believe the developer’s publicity shots, nerds can also use it to show up underneath pretty girls’ balconies and serenade them.

If you’re old enough, right now you are remembering Mr. Microphone commercials from the early 1980’s.  “Hey good lookin’, I’ll be back to pick you up later!”

Right now, Juke’s developers are still raising money to get their product to market, but they are hoping to have it to market by November.  You can check out the Kickstarter campaign by clicking here.

I don’t know about you, but I think I want one. No more singing into a hairbrush in front of the mirror for me!
