The Firefox browser is getting a new look with Firefox 29. The change is aimed at making sure the browser has the same look across all platforms, whether it be a desktop, tablet or phone interface.
Mozilla says this is the most customizable Firefox ever and tosses around current buzzwords such as elegant and powerful. What users will probably notice first is the new interface.
Like newer versions of Chrome and Internet Explorer and many mobile apps, Firefox now has that little three line icon to indicate the menu in the upper-right. In fact, everything has moved to the right side of the page.
Click than menu and you’ll see that all of your Firefox choices are now bundled together in this one spot.
Click the customize tool and you’ll be able to add or remove any feature, service or add-on from one place.
Users will be able to manually drag and drop these items.
The new tab page will allow users to pin their frequently used pages by right-clicking on any tab and selecting “pin tab.”
Speaking of tabs, they now have a new rounded look that Mozilla calls “elegant.”
The new look is designed to be more touch-friendly with larger buttons for ease of use on tablets and mobile.
Users will be able to bookmark a page now with a single click.
Another feature will be improved social integration. Users who enable Firefox Share can add the services they wish to follow such as Facebook . You’ll be able to share pages with friends without leaving the site you are visiting.
This is a step forward in Mozilla’s quest to have Firefox be the platform to which you add applications and games instead of purchasing individual software and apps. The company is very eager to push FireFox Sync which gives you one account to log in across Windows, Mac, Linux and Android. Logging into Sync gives you access to history, saved passwords, bookmarks, open tabs and form data from all of your devices.

i like firefox. using it for years but the 1 thing i liked the best is private browsing.
previous version you could just set it up to be in private browsing all the time. i can’t
tell if it is on or off until i hit private browsing all the time. maybe i’m doing something
wrong but i just can’t tell.
i found this to be a problem with the android version but i just have to live with it, It
would be mush easier to just set it and forget it.

You gave us exactly what was needed for the ones who use Firefox. I just yesterday discovered the star for making bookmarks.
I used to use and donate to Firefox but not anymore since they allowed their CEO to be forced out, even though he donated to a cause he did not let it influence his job, I have a sister in this lifestyle I love very much and do not allow it to affect our relationship.
how do you enable Firefox Share ?
I am glad you put this in the newsletter as I love Firefox and Hate the new Mickey Mouse Windows 8 approach to appeasing the new portable owners. After a full year, this 50 year user of computers can not control Windows 8 and if not for the Shell, I would have given up.
There is absolutely no purpose to having to modify Firefox to get it back to a usable form.
Please post a letter on how we can automatically make it look like my present Firefox as while I was checking to see my present version, it wanted me to update to v29. I think my version is 25.5 but about won’t show it as it wants me to up date now. Lord help me, I am getting ready to clear this hard drive and reinstall and I will be stuck with it.

There’s no way to make Firefox 29 look like Firefox 25.5 – The complete redesign of this version is intentional. The company wants the browser interface to be the same across all devices. There is not a great deal of difference in using this version of Firefox, the controls have simply been moved to the other side of the page.
