Continuing In Yahoo Mail

John from Chicago writes  “With the new Yahoo mail is there a way to stop making it go back to the inbox after you read an email and delete it and continue on to the next email?”

Hi, John.

Thanks for the great question!

We all have our preferences on email, and what to do after you read an email.  Personally, I prefer for the mail server (gmail in my case) to go back to the inbox, because I don’t necessarily want to read through them in the order that they came in.  But, for those of you who still use Yahoo and like to have it to just move on to the next email, here you go.

First off, let me say that the version of Yahoo mail that I have is the latest ad-supported version, but if you have opted for the ad-free version, I think that the steps should be the same.

Open your Yahoo mail (of course) and then hover over the GEAR icon in the upper right corner, and, from the drop-down menu, click SETTINGS.

The VIEWING EMAIL tab should be selected by default.  If it’s not, select it, and then look under the fifth header down, AFTER MOVING A MESSAGE.  Click the drop-down menu and select SHOW NEXT EMAIL MESSAGE.

NOTE:  If you don’t like the new Yahoo mail interface, you can also use the last option on this tab to switch back to the basic interface.

Once you’re done with all of your changes, click SAVE and you’re done!

I hope that this helps!
