When we were setting up the wife’s new computer with Windows 8 OS, the email address for the Microsoft login was incorrectly stored and we can not find how to correct it. She is not able to log into Microsoft because the email address registered at Microsoft is incorrect.
If you’ve set up that account with the wrong address, you can’t change it. But you can create another account by logging in to a local account and creating another Microsoft account. Start by searching user accounts and then selecting Add, delete and manage other user accounts.

Sign-in options for your PC are to sign in with a Microsoft account or a local account. We’re going to create a local account and then log in. Choose Add an Account.

You’ll be asked “How will this person sign in?”

At the bottom of the page, choose Sign in without a Microsoft account.

Fill out the user name and password and choose Next.

You’ll have the option of creating a child’s account, which you won’t choose this time. Click Finish and you’ll now have a Local Account.
Go to you Windows 8 Start Screen and click the user name for a drop-down menu that will let you change users to the local account.

Once you are logged in under the local account, you can follow the create account process again. Only this time, you’ll set up a Microsoft account with the correct e-mail address.

Hopefully this will solve your issue.
