Microsoft has announced a release date for the Windows 10 upgrade. The new operating system will be available for download on July 29.
Users of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 will be able to upgrade for free starting July 29. Users will have one year from that date to take advantage of the free upgrade. Microsoft is encouraging users to make reservations for the upgrade.
Sometime soon, an icon should appear at the lower right corner of your computer.
Click on it for information on how to make your reservation.

yes will download windows 10
I’d like to know what’s new in windows 10 before I upgrade. I really like windows 7.
Do we have a choice?
I made the reservation, which at this time anyone can cancel. But, I don’t understand and have concerns about losing data in my present Win 7 program. I hope WS will publish a detailed article(s) referring to the pros-n-cons and what would be things to look out for. In my sixty eight years, I have grown to be leery of the word FREE! Sometimes free can get expensive.
yes
Yes, will most likely download. Even AFTER you reserve, the icon lingers on the taskbar. Arrgh.
Probably will download. Want to check it out more.
It is supposed to return to some of the old familiar icons & methods. Hell Yes I’m gonna get it. 8.1 has been so frustrating, I can’t wait until 7/29/15.
Yes
Yes
Don’t know weather I will upgrade or not. Have over 200 hidden object games on my laptop and have heard that some games will not work in Windows 10 so will have to do a little more research. Love you guys and Gals.
will upgrade
I will take advantage of the free upgrade to the Windows 10 when notified.
I’d like to know if I can take my Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows Live Mail with me to Windows 10, found it difficult to find the answer in their FAQ.
I think I’ll most likely wait to see some reviews of “side effects”, (glitches, things to be aware of, etc.) before I subscribe for Windows 10.
I know I’ll have to make the move soon b/c I have Windows 7.
Thank you for being there, Steve.
yes but I will miss the gadget that reminds me of the proper date, and the time of day?
Will probably upgrade to Windows 10, but NOT right away! I have older versions of Windows Live Mail, Microsoft Office, Corel Media One, and games that I like too much – if all would be compatible, I wouldn’t hesitate to upgrade!
As an IT consultant, no way!
I have 3 computers. 2 have the windows notice to upgrade to Windows 10 and I filled it in. The 3rd computer has not received the notice. How do I register this computer for the upgrade. It is a Win 8.1 machine.
when i click the icon in the system tray, it opens up to say that i can reserve windows 10; and when i press the next button,it shows me what all it can do better. I don’t know how to put my email address to get a link for reserving it.
We have windows 7 and will be taking advantage of the free windows 10
Yes, I will download windows 10 on two computers running windows 7.
Will certainly take advantage of this new download.
My concern would be what effect Windows 10 will have on my printers as well as any memory sticks, CD’s all used with Windows 7. I have not heard or read anything regarding those as were discussed often with the upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. Not all of my printers that worked with Windows XP worked with Windows 7. Is there a website that supplies this information?
I will definitely download Windows 10 – I am always on the edge of new things. I have always upgraded with every new operating system since Windows 3.1 I have never been sorry.
I would like to know more about what Windows 10 has to offer, that Windows 8.1 doesn`t have. I am happy with Windows 8.1….
If I download windows 10 and do not like it, can I go back to windows 8.1 or windows 7?Will all my files still be readily available?
I would have to know if my brand new printer would work on Win10. Also can I go back to 8.1 if I have problems or don’t like it
