Short Question About Vista

Bob has a quick question that’s perfect for a Quick Tip. He writes:  “You mention a lot about upgrading ” Windows 7 & 8″ to “Windows 10”. But, my question is am I able to upgrade “Windows Vista” to Windows 10? A short and simple question.”

If you want to make the switch as part of a free upgrade, the answer is “no.” Only Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 systems are eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 10.

Now, if your PC is capable of running Windows 10, you could still purchase Windows 10 and do a clean install. Unlike the upgrade from Windows 7 or 8, which leave your files and programs intact, this would overwrite everything on the PC.

    1. Barbara – you may be able to install 8.1 on your PC (As long as it meets the tech specifications), however this would be a clean install and not an upgrade. You would have to buy 8.1 and it would completely overwrite everything on the PC.
