Jesse made this comment on an article:  “Even if I did have Win 10–I would still use a mouse-if available-I just dont like sliding my fingers all over a screen hunting for whatever—I prefer text –and mouse-“The ole fashioned way” I suppose I’m to set in my ways–Take heed youngsters LOL You too will age. Therefore there is no incentive for me to upgrade to win to–Win 10.”

Jesse, I’m not sure where you got the idea that Windows 10 isn’t designed for using with a mouse. The system is designed specifically to be mouse-friendly in response to complaints that Windows 8 was not. As a daily Windows 10 user, I can tell you that it works just fine with a mouse in a desktop environment.

However, the operating system is also designed to work with tablets and smartphones. It can sense which type of device you’re using and adjust itself accordingly.  I have a Surface tablet with a detachable keyboard. With the keyboard attached, it operates in desktop mode. But when I detach the keyboard it gives me the option of  using tablet mode.

Personally, I don’t think that sliding your finger around is any different than sliding a mouse pointer around. It just takes some getting used to.
