The Valravn is Cedar Point’s new roller coaster that features a 90-degree drop on the first hill. Also called a “dive coaster” (the third of its kind in the United States), the Valravn travels at a top speed of 75 miles per hour and broke several records when it opened to the public on May 7.

The Valravn has become the world’s longest, fastest and tallest coaster and features three inversions with extra-wide passenger train (three total; each holding 24). Cedar Point now features an amazing 71 big ticket rides.

The Valravn was manufactured by Swiss roller coaster firm Bolliger & Mabillard and the track and supports were manufactured by Clermont Steel Fabricators in Batavia in southwest Ohio. The name Valravn comes from Danish folklore (supernatural bird).

Going to Cedar Point to experience this amazement for real? Head towards the new Marina area spanning from the Blue Streak area to near Celebration Plaza. Rider can also access the Valravn by going behind the cobra roll on the B&M Raptor coaster.  Important note: you must be at least 54 inches to ride Valravn.
