We’ve warned you before about online ordering scams, but crooks are really stepping up their game for the holiday season. They’re sending out emails saying that there’s an issue with your Amazon order. (And I’m sure they’ll use the name of other online retailers as well.) The issue could be delivery or with processing. When you click on the message, it asks you to enter personal information like your Amazon password and credit card information.

This is totally bogus. Amazon already has your password and your payment information. None of that would be necessary to facilitate delivery. These people have no knowledge of your account. They’re just betting that you might have an outstanding Amazon order. If you think there’s a legitimate issue with your order, don’t respond to that email. Go to Amazon’s website and check your account or contact their customer service. If you think there’s a problem with delivery yesterday, contact the Post Office, UPS, Fed Ex, or whatever service is delivering your item.
A little bit of investigation could save you a lot of money and trouble in the long term.

As always, thanks for the heads up.
