Bonny has a Windows 10 problem: “Somehow my tiles view in Windows 10 has disappeared. They used to be off to the right, but now they have disappeared. Can you help. I’ve included a screen shot.”

Bonny, you aren’t the only person with this problem and it seems to be a fairly recent development. Here are the fixes from Microsoft that helped a user with the same complaint.
One option is to create a new user account. It’s possible that your settings may have become corrupted.
Here’s how to add an account in Windows 10. Open your Start Menu and click on Settings.

Then choose Accounts:

Choose Family & other users.

Choose Add a family member.

Pick Add an adult. You can use an alternate e-mail address for this now instead of your Microsoft account.

Windows will walk you through the setup, just make sure you don’t restrict the account or you won’t be able to download apps and install them.
A second option is to follow these instructions to repair the issue on the account you’re currently using.
- Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard, select Command prompt (admin).
- Now enter the below command in Command prompt (admin) prompt.PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
- Now enter the below command and hit Enter key on the keyboard. It needs to be exactly the same, so copy/paste may be your best option.Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like “*SystemApps*”} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
Press enter. When it’s finished, try restarting your PC. Let me know if either solution helps.

Where she sees it as a problem, I see it as a solution. I hate that bunch of big squares that come up when I click the start menu. I just want it like it was in windows 7. Don’t get me wrong, I love windows 10 but the only thing that grid of squares does for me is hide the screen from prying eyes. Can that code above be changed to hide the tile view?
you can simply delete all the tiles manually and that is it 🙂
It never fails to happen….Everyone wants all the new fancy technology so they run out and buy stuff before all the bugs are ironed out of whatever it is they acquired… And then they complain because it’s not working correctly….Also Microsoft just has to load up their new OS with as much c— as they can: and then they have to release how many Service Packs before they get it right? It’s the pits. There was nothing wrong with Win 7…I tried Win 10 for about a half a day and that was long enough for me to know I hated it. And don’t even get me started on Win 8!
