Set Your Browser Home Page

I’ve had quite a few questions about setting browser homepages this week. The good news is that you can set your homepage to be any site you choose. So, if you switched to a new browser and don’t like the default homepage, you can easily change it.

Sometimes, changed homepages are a result of accidentally clicking on something. Often times it can be caused by a browser hijacker that redirect you off to the site of the hijacker’s choice. Here’s how to get the page of your choice back.

For Internet Explorer

click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the browser and select Internet Options from the drop-down menu.

This window will pop up. As you can see, there are a whole lot of options here.

The first tab at the top is General.  Your first option at the top is to set your home page.  You can type in the address of the site you’d like to use as your home page.

Then click the OK button.

For Firefox:

You’ll want to click the menu button in the upper-right corner and choose options.

Then choose General from the left pane. You can then either type in your preferred homepage or set the current page.

Here’s how to select your preferred homepage.  First, open Chrome.  In the top-right corner, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu.

Click OK.

Your other startup options are either a new tab page like the screen you’re getting now or to open to the last page you used.

For Microsoft Edge:

To choose a new homepage, you’ll need to click the menu button. That’s the little icon of three dots to the far right of the
page.
