Nomorobo – stop annoying calls

A reader suggested that I share a great service with you:

“Hi Cyn, I was wondering if you ever shared nomorobo with your readers. I’ve been using it on my landline for years and it works great. They block robocalls after one ring and I’ve never had them block a legitimate number. The service is free for landlines, but there is a fee for cell phones.”

Great idea, we’ve mentioned it a few times before, but it’s always a great idea to remind people it’s out there.

The Do Not Call list was great in theory, yet it’s been widely ignored by robo-callers. Enter Nomorobo! A free, easy to set up service that lets you opt out of robocalls!

Click here to check it out.

I suggest watching the video which explains how the service works. The video is just under a minute and half long and I thought it did a great job of convincing me Nomorobo is a useful service.

To begin, click the Get Started button. I noticed right away that they offer this service for both Landlines and Wireless Carriers! Landlines are free, but wireless carries cost $1.99 per month per device.

You’ll choose which service you use, then you’ll select the carrier from the dropdown list. If you have more than one you want to add, click the Add button to enter in more lines. Then you’ll provide your e-mail address and click the blue Next button.

Unfortunately, analog copper landlines are not supported. My carrier wasn’t available, but they provided me with a number to call and request Simultaneous Ringing and will e-mail me when it’s added.

If your carrier does support it, Nomorobo will send you an e-mail that will provide you with the steps you need to set up the service. Clicking the link they’ve provided will whisk you away to the registration form where you’ll enter your name and create a password. It will auto log you in and you’ll need to click the blue Click Here to Get Started button. Then you’ll just follow the steps to add your phone lines! It’s as easy as that!

I hope more carriers will pick up this service so that we can all be robo call free in the near future! Go check to see if you can block those robo calls today!

  1. This really sounds like a great idea! We don’t really have a “landline” but phone service through our cable internet service. So next question; How would that work. Ever since we left NetTalk, we have rediculous number of those nasty robo calls. No Cell. We believe in the increasing information of EMF exposure; Cells any wireless.

    1. Actually, this is intended for phone service through cable. It won’t work with traditional copper landlines.

      1. Good to know. Also, it explains why it was rejected by ATT “traditional” landline. where 80-90% of incoming calls are unwanted..

  2. I’ve tried three times to get your service. After entering the required information and then waiting for the email to follow up, well where’s the email?
