Are you interested in exploring your ancestry? Well in addition to doing a normal genealogy search, you could also consider searching for postcards! Postcard Tree is an archive of postcards that have been digitized and made discoverable by the name of who they were sent to, time, and place.
To get started, you’ll want to click Search at the top of the page, and then enter either your mother or father’s surname. This will run a search of all the postcards and then you can use the facets on the left side of the page to filter down the results by Sender Country, Receiver Country, Receiver, Sender, Year, and Archives Only.
I didn’t find anything for my family, but that wasn’t surprising to me. I still had a lot of fun looking at all the postcards I did find for names closely related to mine.
Go check it out for yourself! Who knows what you’ll discover?
