There’s a feature in Windows Defender that can help protect your Windows 10 PC from ransomware by preventing unfriendly apps from changing your folders or files. This stops crooks from locking them. Now, if you’re using another security app, it may not allow you to make these changes. Here’s how to use it.
Type Windows Defender in your search box and click on the result.
Then choose Virus & threat protection.
Scroll down to Ransomware protection and select Manage ransomware protection.
Turn on Controlled folder access.
