The trick that protects you from ransomware

There’s a feature in Windows Defender that can help protect your Windows 10 PC from ransomware by preventing unfriendly apps from changing your folders or files. This stops crooks from locking them.  Now, if you’re using another security app, it may not allow you to make these changes. Here’s how to use it.

Type Windows Defender in your search box and click on the result.

  1. When I tried this i got this “Your IT administrator has limited access to some area’s of this app and the item you tried to access is not available. Contact IT help desk” I have windows 10 and an HP computer. Not sure what it means. I did check to let it do a occasional scan for virus. I use the free AVG virus app. Also it is grayed out in my settings for the ranson ware.
