Looking for a fast and private browsing experience on your Android phone or tablet? Consider Firefox Focus. This free app automatically blocks most trackers. Plus it’s easy to erase your browsing history.
No trackers mean that most ads are blocked and that you can sometimes get around paywalls and article limits for some sites. That means you’ll use less data and most sites will load faster.
To download for an Android phone, just head to the Google Play Store and search for Firefox Focus.
The app is free, so just tap Install. It should download in just a few seconds.
The first time you open, you’ll see a handy tutorial. You can take a tour or tap on Skip.
You’ll notice the very clean and simple interface. Navigate by typing wither the web address or search terms in the address bar.
The first time you search, you’ll be asked if you want to enable search suggestions.
I found it to be quite a fast browser. Erasing your browsing history is as easy as tapping the garbage can icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Tap the three-dot menu icon at the top of the screen for more options. After only visiting two sites, it showed that 16 trackers had been blocked.
Give this browser a try! I’ll explore it more in a future article. It’s also available for iPhone and iPad in the Apple store.
