Disconnect Windows 7 PC from Internet

With the end of security support for Windows 7, it’s no longer safe to have your PC connected to the Internet. But if you’d still like to use it for other activities like playing offline games, word processing, and other programs, here’s how to make sure you PC is disconnected.

Look on the lower right side next to the clock for the status of your connection. A wireless connection had an icon made of several bars.

A wired one like this.

Click on the icon to open or open the Start Menu and search for Network Connection Center. Once it’s open, you’ll be able to see all networks available for you device and if you are connected.

Click on the network for the option to disconnect or remove the network.  If you have a laptop, you should also have the option to switch to Airplane Mode in the Windows Mobility Center.
