Save Windows Reliability Monitor Reports

A reader had a question about how to save Windows Reliability Monitor Reports (you can click here to learn all about that Windows utility.)

“What program can / do I choose to open up & save the Reliability Report on my laptop?”

You don’t need a program for saving the reports. That function is right there in the utility. First, generate a report.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is events-listed.jpg

Then click on Save reliability history at the bottom left of the screen.

File Explorer will open. Choose where you wish to save the file and name it. It will save in the XML format.

To open the file, just go to where you saved it and right-click.

Choose Open with from the drop-down menu.

Choose the program you want to use for opening.

Here’s the report displayed in Wordpad. Once open, you can save it another file format by choosing Save As.
