If you tend to think of yoga as super-thin, young, and impossibly bendy women standing on their heads, think again. I’m a big fan of yoga because it’s really helped with my back pain and joint strength.
I promise you that you don’t have to be young, flexible, or in good shape to get started. In fact, you can do yoga sitting in a chair. That doesn’t mean you won’t get a beneficial workout.
I picked out this YouTube channel because it features several chair yoga workouts to get you started on a great fitness journey. These videos are produced by therapists from the Toronto Rehab Brain and Spinal Cord LEAP Service. Most of the workouts are less than 30 minutes long and provide a solid foundation of gentle stretches and relaxation techniques. It’s a great way to get started.
