If you have kids in your life or, like me, are just a kid at heart, you’ll want to check out his super-fun site that tracks Santa Claus. NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, has been tracking Santa since 1955.
Over a thousand U.S. and Canadian military personnel volunteer to handle emails and take phone calls from kids eager to keep tabs on Santa. The website sees tens of millions of visitors and is funded by corporate sponsors and not taxpayers. In addition to the website, apps are also available for iPhones, iPads, and Android smartphones and tablets. Let’s check out the website. When you land on https://www.noradsanta.org/ , you’ll notice the Santa Tracker Countdown at the bottom right of the page. The actual tracking of St. Nick doesn’t begin until Christmas Eve, but there are plenty of activities to keep kids busy until the big day.
Users can click on a drop-down arrow at the top right to select from English, Spanish, French, and several other languages.
Click to explore the North Pole.
Kids can play games, learn about NORAD, learn about Santa and holiday traditions, listen to Christmas songs, and watch movies about Santa and NORAD.
The Arcade features a new game every day.
The games are family-friendly and offer multiple skill levels.
The library features interactive apps like one that shows you holiday traditions all around the world.
The real fun kicks in on Christmas Eve as kids can track Santa as he moves around the globe. There’s a running tally of gifts delivered.
