A reader has a question about using Facebook:
“Recently you talked about the new Facebook page. I’m still getting used to it. But I have a problem with logging off of it. I don’t have the white heart with the black circle on my Facebook page, and I don’t know how to get it. I’ve tried a few things, but nothing works. Would you be able to help me with that? As for now, I’m just xing out, and that’s not safe. Thank you so much.”
First of all, I wanted to say that if you’re using your home computer and not sharing it with anyone, there’s really no reason to log out of your Facebook account at home. You being logged in on your browser isn’t somehow going to make it easier for some other person to access your Facebook.
I’m not exactly sure what you mean by a white heart with a black circle, but here’s how to log out of Facebook from a browser. Open Facebook and click your profile button in at the top left.
Then choose Log out from the drop-down menu.
To make sure you log out every time you shut down Facebook, click this link: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=security
Scroll down to Login and then choose the Edit button next to Save your login info.
Click Remove saved login info.
